Astanga Yoga Studio - first place in Poland where Ashtanga is practiced and taught in a traditional Mysore system.

 AYS was established in 2005 and from 2007 it has been run by Ewa Jaros.
Apart from traditional Ashtanga, we also have the classes for beginners.

You can come to a single classes or practice regularly. You can join the group at any time, there is no need to wait for the new course to begin. Anybody can practice yoga, regardless of age, sex, interests.
If You have any physical problems, inform the teacher in advance.

AYS is located in the centre of Warsaw at 4 Gałczyńskiego str. (by Foksal str., just 295 steps from The Palm at the de Gaulle roundabout). We have 2 bright studios (90 m2 i 56 m2); big comfortable reception with a space for relaxation, spacious lockers; massage room; showers; toilets.

What is Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga?
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic form of Hatha yoga. Ashtanga (astau- means eight)- that is eight elements of yoga (yama, niyama, pranayama, asana, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, samadhi).
Vinyasa-a sequenced movement synchronized with the breath, thanks to which ones gets the movement fluency between asanas. The practice is done in the rythm of energizing breath-ujjayi

Ashtanga is a universal practice which:
  • clears and heals the body, develops strength and flexibility
  • teaches detachment and concentration
  • enriches the heart and calms the mind
  • helps to fight stress
  • is both a path of life and of spiritual development
Among all types of yoga Ashtanga is one of the most valuable and effective for our body. At the same time it brings effects on both mental and spiritual level. As time passed, in the west Ashtanga became one of the most favorite forms of practice. It is eagerly chosen by both men and women. As universal practice, it can be practiced by young people and by the elders. For the body Ashtanga is a source of strength, health and energy. For the mind, it is a process of self-observation and self-consciousness, which leads to power, knowledge and freedom.

The practice of Ashtanga on advanced level is physically very demanding. However, anyone can start practicing. With time one slowly gets to more difficult elements. For the beginners more important than physical fitness is an adequate mental attitude - determination, motivation and the willingness to change Your life for better. Everyday practice is a process. Therefore do not set Your mind for fast results. When practicing try to derive the happiness from the fact of practice itself.
